ST GEORGE MOTOR BOAT CLUB
The Kogarah Bay Progress Association (KBPA) objects to the proposed expansion of the St George Motor Boat Club (at 2 Wellington Street, Sans Souci) as shown in documentation accompanying DA2023/0487.
Amongst other modifications and expansions, the Club proposes an expansion to the marina and a two-storey car park where the current carpark is (see photo above.) This will block these stunning views from the street. If the proposed two-storey car park is given the green light, the beautiful views will only be visible from the Club itself.
Only an additional 69 vehicle spaces will be provided by building an unsightly, ugly two-storey carpark.
The community, which included the wider public that makes use of the area, must not be deprived of this amazing amenity. It’s enjoyed by locals and visitors alike. The Club should look at other options to the parking problem, such as an underground carpark.
There are other detailed objections the KBPA has regarding this DA. Please find our submission to Georges River Council here.
