Kogarah Strategic Centre Master Plan - Have Your say

Georges River Council (GRC) have prepared a draft Kogarah Strategic Centre Master Plan. The draft Master Plan is a long-term plan for Kogarah’s town centre and surrounding area and sets a 20-year framework to guide land use, future development, movement, public spaces and infrastructure planning. GRC are inviting the community to view the plans and provide feedback.

Kogarah is one of two Strategic Centres in the Georges River Local Government Area and is an important centre for health, education, business, transport, housing and community services.

Kogarah includes major public and private hospitals, specialist medical services, a TAFE campus, schools, the Clive James Library, local businesses, community services and strong public transport links.

These services make Kogarah an important place for people who live, work, study, visit and access care in the area.

The Kogarah Bay Progress Association (KBPA) have prepared a submission, expressing concern over overdevelopment, the loss of heritage, character and tree canopy as well as the lack of increased infrastructure, including parking, required to support the additional residences and locals. Another concern is lack of green space in the Kogarah area.
