We work to promote the best interests of the ratepayers and residents of the Georges River Council Local Government Area.

We liaise with Georges River Council and lobby state and federal governments on behalf of the residents and ratepayers.

The Kogarah Bay Progress Association and its members are in close contact with Council’s planning and administrative staff so that locals are kept apprised of key information, including but not limited to:

  • Zoning change proposals;

  • Significant planning proposals and development applications;

  • Preserving open spaces;

  • Community campaigns;

  • Guest speakers;

  • Possible loss of community assets.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be a collective voice for the ratepayers and residents of the Georges River Council Local Government Area, which incorporates the residents of both the former Kogarah and Hurstville Councils.

We work to promote the best interests of our community and present local issues to Council in addition to other relevant bodies in an effort to maintain and further the wellbeing of the area and the community members.

We believe that progress is necessary to support future generations, however, we remain focused on ensuring development in the area is aligned with existing or planned infrastructure, preventing rampant over-development and preserving our open spaces and family-friendly facilities.
